And fewer still whose roots here transcended with the American Indian tribe Pokanoket Wampanoag. Bill Painted Arrow Perry's bloodline landed here in the Mayflower, and as one of the tribal council for the Pokanoket, his American roots go back well before 1620. Born in 1938. Slatersville, Rhode Island, Bill developed a passion for the arts as a young man. He not only enjoyed painting, but sculpting as well. He attended the Rhode Island School of Design, and later spent 4 years in the Marines, nurturing his passion whenever possible through instruction and...
